10대의 차가 있다. 모두 같은 속도를 가지고 같은 방향으로 달린다.
당신은 지금 두 번째 차를 운전하고 있다.
첫 번째 차가 브레이크를 잡았을 때, 차는 노란색에서 빨간색으로 바뀐다.
당신의 차를 정지시키려면, 마우스로 클릭하면 된다.(차 위가 아니라도 됨)
운전자의 평균반응시간은 [텍스트필드에 입력한 값] ± 0.1초 이다.
기본값 0.5초는 반응시간이 0.4초에서 0.6초의 평균이라는 의미다.
반응시간을 정해서 교통사고가 발생하는지, 하지 않는지 확인해 보자.
그리고, 얼마나 많은 차들이 같이 사고가 나는지 보자.
선택한 단위( m/s, km/hr, mi/hr)에 따라 다른 속도를 입력할 수 있다. (단위 확인을 잘 하자.)
간격은 차들 사이의 거리를 말한다. 오른쪽 마우스 버튼을 누르면, [정지/계속]을 할 수 있다.
도로와 타이어 사이의 마찰 계수를 입력한다. (0.8 이 일반적인 상황에서 적당한 값이다.)
그래프는 모든 차의 속도를 보여 준다.
만약 차가 빨갛게 변했다면, 앞차가 제동을 건것이다.

I have only just found your wonderful web-site & have tried the
accident
experiment, it really is a good lesson for us drivers.Perhaps it should
be
included in driving tests.
I had not appreciated the "knock on" effect until I noticed that although
I could stop in time those behind me could not.
I found that at 100 mph I had to allow 75 feet between cars for them
all
to stop & even then it was not succesful every time. A wet
road would of
made it much worse.
Thanks for a very interesting site, although I have no formal education
in
Physics I find it fascinating, so I am going to try the other experiments
now.
