Hello all, I'm looking for a sim that will allow a falling weight to control a system of gears (such as for a clock).  The weight would have to be variable, along with the number of gears and their teeth.  Also, I would need a readout for rpm of each gear, and the rate of fall for the weight.  The distance of the fall should be variable.  I'm trying to build a system which will show the relationship between gravitational potential energy and electrical energy (see if you can get the right gear ratio to run an ac 60hz generator using only a falling weight).  Thanks,

To make all the gears moving, the system need to have enough potential energy to be converted into kinetic energy.
You will  need a heavy falling object. The device can only operate for a short time, and it is not an efficient device.

It is more efficient if  you design a device which convert potential energy into electricity, and use electronic device to generate 60Hz signal.

What is purpose for the system you want to build?
