Actually Site isn't crawl automatically! it is crawled by the Googlebot which goes on HIGH PR Sites.
So if you want get crawled by the googlebot you need to make backlinks on High PR sites!

Other than links, I think one of the most typical ways is through an XML Sitemap. Usually sites generate these themselves to get more of their pages indexed.

Additionally, some speculate that visiting a URL with Google's Chrome or with Google's Toolbar could get your links indexed since it sends that data back to Google in most of the default installations.

Google could potentially leverage their own Open DNS to observer user traffic for URLs.

Additionally, Google could use Google Analytics, Double Click, or any place that Adsense is installed.

Lastly, Google could also get new URL information from the users who are using their fiber connection in Kansas City, KS.

There are definitely a multitude of ways that Google could be collecting data to find new URLs. Whether they actually are using that data, who knows. Some people speculate they use Google Analytics (GA) data, but I have my doubts. Their terms of use seem to suggest that they don't, and as listed above, there are so many other ways they can get to the data, GA isn't really necessary when you think about it.
