Satellite motion in 3D

The default status for the simulation is a synchronized satellite.



You can drag the arrow to change it's velocity when it is paused.

Click reverse button to change it's direction (opposite direction with same speed).

Please noticed that the satellite itself did not rotate when it is moving around the earth.

i actually tried to add 3D into my remixed simulation but the Ejs failed to render the 3D parts of the model, only 2D seems to work.
i abandon the modification (mods) because i could not figure out the problem with the xml or Ejs itself could not generate such a complex multiple view of 2D and 3D select-able.


i should be a ble to enhance them all

Nice applet, i like 3d panel, well i modified applet that already created by prof Hwang, and but is not 3d is 2d http://www.phy.ntnu.edu.tw/ntnujava/index.php?topic=2244.0


I add image to the earth and do a slow rotation for earth, but i believe im gonna to add more options may also add 3d panel, need only some time to study more about satellite motion.

I been adding new animated gif into wikimedia and Wikipedia.
So far, the Wikipedia community has not deleted my animated gif from the Wikipedia pages.
 

U can see animated gif on several pages now.
Try the solar systems, planets, gimbal lock, collisions, momentum, vernier caliper, micrometer .

Question:- do you think movement of the earth is slowly or this velocity is good? i believe velocity is fine but just for confirm.

Yes the velocity is suitable.
U may want to figure out how to add a time variable
So that the earth rotates one full round cta = 2*PI in t = 24 hours.

I receive E-mail from prof Wolfgang Christian about Satellite motion applet, i was already contact OSP to if may they like to post the applet that i modified in their website, i need to understand how to modified the applet to be like what Wolfgang Christian suggest, here the E-mail.

The applet is very nice and shows how to include images in EJS model. The images add a lot of realism but this realism may suggest that the scale is correct. I am worried about the incorrect scale of the satellite image relative to the Earth and the orbital radius of the satellite. Also, the axis of rotation is not the North Pole.
