This following applet is What will happened if part of the light path were blocked
Created by prof Hwang Modified by Ahmed
Original project What will happened if part of the light path were blocked

There is a common mis-concept among students:
Blocking part of the lens surface would block the corresponding part of the image.

The intensity of the image for the object is reduced is some light path were blocked (the whole image is still there).
Click "block part of light path" button or drag lower end of the black line to lower position to block part of light paths.
The intensity is not the same if part of the light paths were blocked.

You can change the slit position and its width with mouse drag and drop function.

  • Please feel free to post your ideas about how to use the simulation for better teaching and learning.
  • Post questions to be asked to help students to think, to explore.
  • Upload worksheets as attached files to share with more users.
Let's work together. We can help more users understand physics conceptually and enjoy the fun of learning physics!
