The following simulation show how to cut sphere into many cylinders (equal height but different radius).
When the number of cylinder is larger enought, the volume of all cylinders is very close to volume of a sphere.
The slider can be used to change number of cylinders.
V is the volume of the sphere with $R=1$;
V2 is the sum of all the volume of divided cylinders. $\sum \pi r_i^2\,h$ where $h=R/N$ and $r_i=\sqrt{R^2-z_i^2}$
