Hello,
I wonder whether you could make a simulation of a ball (which height and mass can be change) falling in sand and making hole which size will be connected with potential energy the ball will have.
In a first step, we will have something like what you have done "To show that weight is vertical downwards". And then it will be possible to see from the top and measure the diametr of the crater.

Do you have any data or model can be used to calculate the shape and size of the crater related to the height, size and weight of the ball?
I need a model to create the simulation!
