An insulated uncharged metal object M is brought near but not touching and insulated positively charged metal sphere S.
Which of the following diagrams best illustrates the final distribution of charges on S   and on M?

I thought this is an applet not made yet on this forum.

for your consideration Grin

Click Electricity at the right frame, then click Two cylinders.
May be it is what you want. There are a lots of possibility with JaCoB.
The following is a demo. You can also check out Image charge: point cgarge and a sphere

Simply awesome!

Thanks!, JaCoB applet is the best for this purpose for students to try to figure out themselves.

I managed to follow your video to get the same effect setup as in the question.

I have to make a video about this when time permits. It is super powerful

The embedded applet appears to be of a different character system? i see squares for the english words Smiley

It seems that you were viewing the cached html page.
The URL has been changed to EVogal.html
You might need to reload the page.

English should be the default code for applet. I will check out what might cause the problem.

The file was link to a Chines version jar. I changed the above tag to iframe. It should display english version now.

Jacob was developed by Vojko (a good friend of mine who pass away several years ago) and other co-workers. Vojko was also a member of CoLoS group.

The Jacob web page is located at http://www.phy.ntnu.edu.tw/demolab/CoLoS/JaCob/
You will find that Jacob need jacob.jar  (from the source of the html page)
So you should be able to download it from http://www.phy.ntnu.edu.tw/demolab/CoLoS/JaCob/jacob.jar

All the jacob are controled by javascript. You can copy it from the html page.
