Hi I am new here and this is my first post.

I need to find someone with expertise on any sort of EM wave generator that could be hoisted about 20-30 feet over the ground and be from there be used to send signals to the ground, which would later be analysed like SONAR signals are analysed by ships.

Can I put a SONAR on a hot air balloon and get a reflected "picture" from there - about 1-2 feet of soil penetration is fine. Infra red, X-ray, RADAR, SONAR - any sort of suggestion/solution is welcome.

I am in NYC now - it would help if the person lived nearby. Else there is always electronic comm. Any feedback welcome. Thanks a lot.
