Title: Anybody got a pulley simulation?
Post by: Quest4PMD on November 30, 2008, 09:46:25 pm
Hi! I wonder if anybody have a 2 or 3-pulley simulation where the loads and sizes of pulleys are variable? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

There is a pulley simulation (http://www.phy.ntnu.edu.tw/ntnujava/index.php?topic=8.0) which include 2 and 3 pulley. But the size of the pulley is fixed.
The above simulation did not consider the mass of the pulley.

You are welcomed to check out Atwood machine with massive pulley (http://www.phy.ntnu.edu.tw/ntnujava/index.php?topic=169.0)

Please write down in detail what are you going to do with the simulation. May be we can create one for your case.

Hi!

I usually work with climbing ropes and i have to build pulley blocks(containing 3-5 pulley) for load lifting or pulling.

I am looking for a progam which can show me the actual forces depending on the actual mass and the number of used pulleys in different connections.

This program is also very usefull, but i would like to change the actual weight, distances, and the number of pulleys.

Thanks.

Could you provide a drawing  to show what you would like to have, and please explain in more detail what you want?

I need to fully understand what you want to create a simulation.
