Title: Plotting signals to a time-base.

I am working on a project to find the time taken from a  datum point in the swing of a bell to the clapper striking and producing a sound.

I have a small voltage signal produced for the datum point and another for the sound of the clapper striking.

Help please.

I would like to know how I can determine the time taken between the two signals. Preferably by using a PC.  The units are probably micro-seconds.

This is to help make adjustments to different bells so that their effects are uniform. (The speed of the swing of the bells is the same).

There are many commercial available A/D converters (Analytic to Digital signal converter) which are available for PC.
Or if you want to do if by yourself with PC only. There are free software available which can turn PC into a simple Oscilloscope device (use audio signal input, resolution in time will be limited to audio signal range).
