This applet is a simulation for the following demonstration device.

Consider the problem of a bead of mass m on a frictionless hoop of radius R which is rotating at a constant angular velocity about its vertical diameter such that its angular velocity is constant.
The problem is to determine the equations of motion of the bead by working in the frame of reference rotating with the hoop.
