Title: Why there are several points of the lenses for which an image is formed??
Post by: dolphin on February 28, 2007, 12:57:10 am
Hi,
I recently did an experiment about Geometrical Optics with a mesh and with converging and diverging lenses. I found that there are several points of the lenses for which an image is formed. I dont know why so I need help..

Please explain you experimental setting in more detail. What is the object and what doyou mean by several images are formed? Or you just found seveal spots ?
There is no way to help if the situation is not clear explained.

We put a converging lens and diverging lens in the same stand. We use mesh as an object. when we change the position of lenses there will be different images formed . I want to know what causes the appearance of these several images.

(I hope the information I give is efficient..)

Do you  see many light spots or you see many meshes(images)?
Each hole of mesh is similar to a light source.
For a mesh, you have many light sources(holes), and you will see many light spots.
