Title: light waves

please can anyone clarify my doubts:
(i) electromagnetic wave is generated when electron drops energy. What makes >this wave travel long distance such as from the Sun to Earth ie where from in space electromagnetic field is generated. Why doesn't the energy gets dissipated.
(ii)Infrared rays have less energy as compared to ultraviolet rays. Why is then infrared ray hotter as compared to ultraviolet rays. Is there any relationship between wavelength and heat.
(iii)A photon from the Sun reaches Earth. What is responsible for its displacement. I thought that energy is locked up in the atom/oscillating electron. Are light waves /particles,  atoms in motion.
