Title: Trajectories for projectile with same speed (different initial angle)+drag force
Post by: Fu-Kwun Hwang on February 20, 2011, 11:40:08 am
The following simulation show traces for projectile with the same initial speed (adjustable via slider) but different initial angle (angle from 0 to $^\pi$).

Three trace sets are shown:
1. Blue traces are the projectile orbit without any drag force.
2. Green traces are the projectile orbit with drag force $\vec{F}=k_1 \vec{V}$, i.e. the drag force is proportional to the speed (in the oppositive direction of the velocity).
3. Yellow traces are the projectile orbit with drag force $\vec{F}=k_2 \vec{V}^2$, i.e. the drag force is proportional to the square of the velocity (in the oppositive direction of the velocity).

You can use the right vertical slider to change the scale of the simulation.
