Title: show mathematic equation as part of the message
Post by: Fu-Kwun Hwang on November 23, 2004, 09:47:59 am
You can add mathematic equation as part of the message, our server will translate LaTeX syntax equations into HotEqn java applets and display it as part of message automatically.
For example :[fkh]
If you write message shown
\$a*x^2+b*x+c=0\$  $a*x^2+b*x+c=0$
\$x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a} \$ $x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}$
\$\int^5_3 \, x dx=\frac{1}{2}x^2 |^5_3 =16 \$ $\int^5_3 \, x dx= \frac{1}{2}x^2 |^5_3 =16$

Hi

I would like to use the server to generate some equation applets for messages; but I do not know where it is or how to use it. Can you point us to the server with a short example ?

(Sorry I am new here and do not know my way around yet)

Thank you !

The first message already shows several examples.
Here is another example:
If you type
Quote
the root for \$a*x^2+b*x+c=0\$ is \$x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4*a*c}}{2*a}\$
You will get

the root for $a*x^2+b*x+c=0$ is $x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4*a*c}}{2*a}$
