This is a spring school on Taiwan with 16 years of history. It is designed to offer graduate students, PostDocs and Faculties of Taiwan, and some also from other east asian countries like Japan and Korea, review lectures in the frontier research field in particle physics and field theory. Three speakers will each offer five hours of review lectures.
There is no registration fee for all participants. Daily meals and a school banquet will be provided.
The school will held at National Taiwan Normal University from
March 27 to 30, 2002. The site will be at the International Conference
Center of our second campus.
The two campuses of NTNU are situated in the downtown Taipei city. One is located near central downtown Taipei on Ho-Ping East road, where the central campus and administrative offices are. Just a short 5-minute drive from the other, the Second Campus is the home for the College of Science. The Central Campus ( for an interactive map) of NTNU melds past and present, with both historical setting and modern conveniences. The well-preserved Gothic style and red-brick buildings have become a university characteristic of NTNU. The Vienna palm trees create an easeful place where students enjoy studying most. This campus hosts the best Chinese Mandarin Training Center for Foreign students. With a lot foreign students, the area around the central campus boasts a large number of nice pubs, cafes (arguably with the highest density) and an exciting night market. The Second Campus is near National Taiwan University, again an area filled with cultural activities.
Weather of Taiwan in March is mild, with temperatures 15-22 C. Light rain is quite usual in spring, 50% chance of raining and 80% of relative humidity. Link to Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan
