Current Research

• Two-electron Atoms in Intense Laser Fields

  Laser-atom interaction; two-electron correlation effects; multiphoton processes; above threshold ionization (ATI); high harmonic generation (HHG).

  

  The two-electron wavefunction in an intense laser field (5x10¹⁴W/cm²). The wavefunction for each electron is reduced into a one-dimensional wavefunction and is drawed in x and y direction respectively. For an animation of the wavefunction under a 6-cycle pulse, click the graph or here.

• Nano-optics and Plasmonics - Surface plasmon of Subwavelength Structures

  Nano-optics; surface plasmon of metallic nanostructures; numerical solutions of Maxwell's equations

  

  Near-field distribution around the array of three pairs of silver nanocylinders with a TM illumination.

• High-density near-field optical disks

  Super-resolution near-field structure (super-RENS) is a promising optical disk structure for near-field ultra-high density optical data storage. Collaborating with Prof. Tsai (Dept. of Physics, NTU), we study its physical mechanism.
